For Immediate Release Oct 25, 2010
Burlington, Ontario:
Local businesswoman Blair Lancaster successfully won Ward Six Seat on Council.
“ I ran in this election because I care strongly about growing our city in a livable and sustainable direction” said Ms. Lancaster.
Known locally as the Executive Director of Breast Cancer Support Services, owner of a very successful spa business and Halton’s Woman of the Year in 2000, Lancaster brings over 37 years of business experience to Council.
“ I grew up in Burlington, raised my family and built a business here. We live in Ward Six and I want to focus on the everyday needs of our citizens. We need to bring their concerns to council and engage the community in creating positive solutions.”
Ms. Lancaster has served as Director of the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Sheridan College, experience that has given her insight into pressing issues in health care and education.
“ We must work together to support the vision of improved hospital care for our community and to find sustainable solutions for the financial management of the new initiatives and current challenges that face the City of Burlington.”
